I had the opportunity recently to contribute an article for Premier Guitar magazine. It covers some of the most common issues that come up when deciding how to power all of the pedals on your pedal board and keep your rig low noise at the same time. It’s titled “Powering Your Board” and you can read it here.

Good job Terry! I’m fighting current problems right now. Powering my Strymon Blue Sky(200mA), Empress Phaser(120mA),Wampler SLOstortion(60mA), and Blackout Effectors VST-Mod Twosome(90mA) was
more the my T•Rex Fuel Tank jr. could handle. Kyle of Blackout Effectors shared with me that the little L.E.D. lights pull up to 25mA. They look great, but use too much power. With my El Capistan
coming on board, I’m looking at replacing the T•Rex with a Voodoo Lab Digital Power Supply, with 4 300mA (isolated) ports, that will free up(power the 3 Strymons)my VDL Pedal Power 2 to handle the more power hungry pedals while letting my DC Brick power most the drive section on my pedalboard. There is way more to great tone than great pedals, although great pedals are a must to achieve great tone.
How does the DC Brick stand up?
