Artist Feature: Stringed Instruments sans Guitar & Bass

Stringed Instruments with Effects Pedals
When talking about effects pedals, most people will first think of guitar and bass. But many different kinds of musicians have stepped outside (or should I say on) the box and started creating, experimenting, and composing with pedals. Here are some of our favorite players of other types of stringed instruments using pedals to inspire and entertain.

David Fertello does an enchanting cover (which ties in with our last Artist Feature here) of Zedd’s “Addicted to a Memory.”

Cellist Simon Huber joined Laurel in a lovely Hollywood Hills setting to perform on BalconyTV. Simon shared with us that he was using BigSky 🙂

Alright, I may be bending today’s instruments-other-than-guitar-and-bass theme a bit by featuring a pedal steel guitar, but I think once you start watching this one, you will know why it made it into our favorites. Lush and emotional tones fill our hearts. Enjoy David Murphy & Emily Magner’s “Once Upon A Time in the West.”

Natalie Lurie gave us this more more more moment with her harp and TimeLine. If you want to hear more, Natalie just released her new EP, No Mercy in the Night.

Juri Kannheiser takes us on a musical journey with his enjoyable take on “Terra Acqua” by Giovanni Sollima.

Going to feature two of Marianna P’s pieces here, because they are both so capitivating.

Be on the lookout for more Artist Features. We are always listening to your songs online. Keep tagging us with #strymon so we don’t miss yours. 😀
