Yes, Zuma R300 provides automatic worldwide power compatibility (100-240V 50/60Hz), and can be used internationally with the appropriate region-specific IEC cable. The IEC cable is the cable that connects from the wall outlet to the back of Zuma.
Zuma R300 ships with the IEC cable for the region in which it is purchased. If you intend to use Zuma R300 internationally, you will need to purchase the appropriate IEC cable for the region that you will be traveling to.
Zuma R300 provides a total of five – 9V DC center negative outputs, providing 500mA of current each. One of these is an adjustable output that can be set to 9V (500mA), 12V (375mA), or 18V (250mA). Pedals can be connected to Zuma R300 with the included 2.1mm x 5.5mm barrel connector cables. Zuma R300 can power most effects pedals on the market, including all Strymon pedals. However, there are some pedals that have different requirements:
My pedal requires LESS than 500mA of current:
My pedal requires MORE than 500mA of current:
My pedal requires 12V DC:
My pedal requires 18V DC:
My pedal requires center-positive polarity:
My pedal requires 15V/24V DC:
My pedal requires AC power:
****Caution: Providing too much or too little voltage to your pedals can provide undesired performance or even damage your pedals. Please make sure to check with each of your pedals’ manufacturer for recommended voltage, polarity, and current to ensure proper operation and prevent damaging your pedals with incorrect power.****
Zuma R300 features built in threaded hardware for easy mounting to the top or bottom of most pedalboards. A drill template and mounting screws are included in the box.
Zuma R300 is low profile, incredibly lightweight, and can also be mounted to the top or bottom of most pedalboards (including Pedaltrain Nano and Metro boards) without modifications using only VELCRO® or Dual Lock™.
With Zuma R300, you can add more power outputs to your power supply by linking Strymon Ojai or Ojai R30 units to Zuma R300’s 24V output allowing your power to grow with your pedalboard.
To connect Ojai units to Zuma R300:
Please read this FAQ for info on how many pedals can be powered when linking Ojai units.
You can link as many as 5 Ojai and/or Ojai R30 units to Zuma R300, powering up to 30 effects pedals. While it’s unlikely that anyone would go to such extremes, we wanted to ensure Zuma R300 delivers maximum flexibility and expandability. A much more likely scenario would be to link 1 or 2 Ojai units to Zuma R300, powering a combination of up to 15 high and low current draw pedals.
Ojai and Ojai R30 Expansion Kits consist of an isolated power distributor and all of the necessary connection cables to integrate it with your existing Strymon power supply and power up to five additional effects pedals.
Expansion Kits require an existing Strymon power product which connects to an AC power outlet, either directly (Zuma, Zuma R300) or via an external power adapter (Ojai R30, Ojai). Simply link an Expansion Kit to your existing Strymon power product via the 24V jack.
Expansion Kits include:
If you are getting noise from your power supply after introducing Zuma to your pedalboard setup which was powered by a different power supply, this typically means that there is likely a grounding problem with the connections in your signal chain. Some power supplies can hide grounding issues that affect your tone without realizing it.
If, after introducing Zuma to your pedalboard, you are getting noise in your audio signal, we recommend testing the continuity of each of the cables in your signal chain (mainly sleeve-to-sleeve) to determine where they may be a loss of a ground connection in your signal chain that could create this noise.
