I use the Bluesky with a Maxon AD999 which I run through a Victoria double deluxe and a Divided by 13 RSA 23. My band Moon is all about wall of sound, psychedelia, and lush melody. I have heard the El Capistan and have found my missing piece. I would give years off my life for this pedal!
Playing devil’s advocate, have you heard the Empress SuperDelay? I have one and it really is Super with a capital S. Just a thought, anyway. I’m definitely not knocking Strymon – I’m saving for the Blue Sky so I can retire my Lexicon LXP-1. I use it all the time in my rig for the Plate setting, but the Blue Sky Shimmer has captured my heart, mind and several other body parts 🙂
