At the time of release (March 2019), all Strymon pedals that can accept a MiniSwitch via the EXP jack except BigSky, Mobius, and TimeLine are compatible with MultiSwitch Plus. For these pedals, a firmware update is required for compatibility with MultiSwitch Plus. Please visit strymon.net/update for instructions on how to update BigSky, Mobius and TimeLine.
There are several different modes of operation for MultiSwitch Plus for various uses with our products. Please check the compatibility chart for details on which modes work with your Strymon pedals. Also, check out the following FAQ for how to set your Strymon pedal to work with MultiSwitch Plus.
Preset mode – Adds the ability to select and bypass onboard presets 1-2-3.
Custom mode – Adds remote control functionality unique to the connected pedal.
TimeLine, BigSky, and Mobius mode – Expanded preset selection control and dedicated looper controls. Acts just like the original MultiSwitch.
TAP, FAV, BOOST, and SPEED mode – Each footswitch is paired with the closest output and its function can be independently assigned.
Combo mode – Footswitches A and B and output jacks 1 and 2 match the behavior of Preset mode. Footswitch C and output jack 3 match the behavior of TAP, FAV, BOOST & SPEED MODE.
This is a quick reference for setting up your connected Strymon pedals to work with MultiSwitch Plus. Please see this FAQ for additional details on setting MultiSwitch Plus to different modes of operation.
PRESET Mode
Preset mode is compatible with Iridium, Riverside, Sunset, and Volante.
Custom Mode
This mode adds remote control functionality unique to supported pedals. Currently compatible with Volante.
TimeLine, BigSky & Mobius Mode
MultiSwitch Plus works just like the original MultiSwitch with TimeLine, BigSky, and Mobius. Please see the original MultiSwitch FAQs for additional info.
TAP, FAV, Boost & Speed Mode
Allows you use MultiSwitch Plus as 3 separate MiniSwitches with each footswitch assigned to each corresponding output.
Boost switch compatibility: Riverside
Tap switch compatibility: BigSky, Deco, DIG, Flint, Mobius, TimeLine, Volante
Favorite switch compatibility: Brigadier, Deco, DIG, El Capistan, Flint, Iridium, Lex, Riverside, Sunset
Preset: LEDs A-C represent presets 1-3 in the connected pedal(s). The LED states indicate which preset is loaded. If no LEDs are lit on Multiswitch Plus, then the connected pedal(s) are either bypassed or the onboard preset (preset 0) is loaded.
Tap, Fav, Boost & Speed: Depending on how MultiSwitch Plus is configured, the LED indicates that the FAV setting is activated, Boost is engaged, or Fast speed is selected.
Timeline, BigSky & Mobius: The LEDs do not function in this mode because communication with TimeLine, BigSky and Mobius via the EXP jack is not bi-directional.
Custom: The Custom setting functionality and LED behavior varies depending on the settings selected on the connected pedal.
Combo: In Combo mode, LEDs A-B indicate the selected preset for the pedal(s) connected to jacks 1-2. LED C indicates that the FAV setting is activated, Boost is engaged, or Fast speed is selected for the pedal connected to jack 3.
MultiSwitch Plus works in different ways with a variety of our products. Below is a compatibility chart with how you can use MultiSwitch Plus with our current product line:
MultiSwitch Plus offers all of the functionality of MultiSwitch, but provides additional compatibility options to work with a great range of our products, three outputs for connecting multiple Strymon pedals, and LEDs.
